Downtown Calgary Engagement Photoshoot
On a chilly January morning, our beautiful newly engaged couple, Rosie and Gabriel braved the cold for their photoshoot with us and talented photographer, Zandrhea Photography & Film.
Rosie was such a sweet soul, and even in the early morning hours, she was absolutely glowing when speaking about Gabriel, her sweet fiancé. Rosie wanted a true glam experience, from her hair of cascading hours and half swept up, to her makeup being a daytime plum smokey eye, complete with her favourite lashes.
The wonderful thing about doing hair and makeup for newly engaged gals, is the chance to get to know them in a more calm and chill environment, and really enjoy the process of glam. So many times, brides ask us “Do you recommend a trial, and why?”, and the answer is a resounding YES!
Trials are incredible and to be honest, totally necessary (in our humble opinion) for these top reasons:
1) You, as a bride ,get to meet us - your glam team- BEFORE your big day! Which means, we’ve already connected in person, we have met and laughed, and chatted, gotten to know one another, and this is HUGE. On your wedding day, you are probably going to be at the least bit, slightly nervous. Slightly anxious. And you will probably be having lots of questions thrown at you, unexpected visits from family or friends, and it is going to most likely be a busy morning. So why on earth would you want to add even an inch of stress to your day, by not knowing your glam team or knowing what their artistry skills will really be like on you?! Trust us, book the trial. We promise you are going to love the process and it will be that 1 aspect of the wedding you will not need to stress about on your day of.
2) Sometimes, we have brides that have a certain look in mind that they believe is what they want. They’ve searched through Pinterest, and think they know what they’d like. But once that makeup or hair glam is on them, they realize this is NOT what they had in mind, or what they thought it would make them feel like. That’s where us, as your Bridal Hair and Makeup Artists come in. We LOVE what we do, and behind the love is actual experience, and schooling. So with that said, whenever we have brides who realize maybe what they pinned or liked online, isn’t looking the same way on them, we are there to make some suggestions, do some tweaks, and adjust using our knowledge and skills to get you from “I Love this pinterest look” to “I love how my pinterest picture inspired my look, but is perfected just for me!”. Without a trial, you risk us giving you what you thought you wanted for your wedding day, without a chance of tweaking and changing this to what would really look amazing on you.
3) Tons of brides do just what our lovely Rosie did today. Book a trial on the same day as your engagement pictures! I mean, how genius is this? We get to meet you, glam you to perfection, and then you are off to your photoshoot without worrying about doing your hair or makeup? We always tell our newly engaged girlies to go for a cheeky late night dinner and drinks to just keep enjoying their glam and showing it off!
